Assignment Undelivered by Steve Guest
My editor said “I need a poem from thee,
With clever words and rhymes that please.”
Nothing hard for a genius like you,
Roll one off while you sit for a… few.
So I sat and I thought, of what I could say,
So profound and in few words that would endure and stay.
In ones mind and one heart, an indelible mark,
Wise words, of life’s teaching from this very bright spark.
But alas, I was stuck with a blank slate of mind.
Of wisdom, of words no rhyme I could find.
So I wrote this small note in three stanzas of verse.
She could have written herself, but it would have been so much worse…
Of curse. (Read course)
